Microchipping is legally required for all puppies and kittens before they turn 12 weeks of age. Your microchipped pet must then be registered with your local Council by 6 months of age. Don’t worry if you have missed your deadlines – we can microchip at any age!
What does microchipping involve?
The microchip is the size of a grain of rice and is inserted beneath the skin between the shoulder blades. It is a very quick procedure and can be done during a normal consultation or at the time of desexing.
Benefits of a microchip
If your pet gets lost without its collar, a microchip will help any vet clinic or Council return your pet safely to you.
